Aurimat

Masters of the Universe was produced in Mexico City for the Mexico market by the company Aurimat, under the title “Los Amos del Universo”. A total of 28 figures were produced over the span of 3 years, between 1984-1986, and were in boxes wrapped in cellophane. The Boxes contained the figure, bagged accessories, and a mini-comic in spanish marked LOS AMOS. A total of 17 different mini-comic titles were produced.

Aurimat borrowed many different molds and so you will find Los Amos figures and accessories that are marked Mexico, France, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mattel Inc (a characteristic of a Hong Kong mold), and many with marked-off COOs altogether. This leads to having to rely not only on COO markings to identify Los Amos, but also on color, plastic, and other differences.

The Los Amos Aurimat figures were produced in 3 waves, one wave per year. Each year they re-issued the past year's figure, which is one of the reasons there tend to be many variations of any single character. Another reason why Aurimat tends to have many variants is that Aurimat was a conglomeration of a few different factories, and the type of plastic, colorings, molds, etc… very possibly varied from one factory to the next.

The first wave (1984) of Aurimat figures consist of 10 figures which included He-Man, Skeletor, Man-at-Arms, Beast Man, Teela, Evil-Lyn, Zodac, Merman, Stratos and Faker.

The second wave (1985) of Aurimat figures consists of 10 figures that included Battle Armor He-Man, Battle Armor Skeletor, Principe Adam (Prince Adam), Webstor, Trap Jaw, Man-e-Faces, Mekaneck, Tri-Klops, Ram-Man, and Jitsu.

The third wave (1986) of Aurimat figures consists of 8 figures that included Skeletor con Dragon Paralizador (Dragon Blaster Skeletor), He-Man Punch Fulminante (Thunder Punch He-Man), Kobra Khan, Buzz-Off, Clawful, Fisto, Whiplash and Orko.
